A machine is down and all anyone has to go on is a photo of the old part or a worn nameplate. Identifying the right item correctly the first time avoids an expensive ordering mistake.

the obsolete drive
A client's machine went down needing a drive that the manufacturer had discontinued. The OEM's answer: upgrade the whole system, $60K, 14-week lead time. We located a compatible replacement through our supplier network and had it on site within days, for under a tenth of the quoted upgrade. The machine was back up the same week.
